Payments 

Prices are quoted individually due to the custom nature of our work. The total price payable is the price on the Invoice. Your order becomes confirmed when we receive the signed contract and initial 50% deposit. We do not reserve dates without payment of deposits and recommend that you therefore confirm as soon as possible in order to be sure that we have availability for your date. The remaining balance is due 1 calendar month before the delivery date. Orders placed 1 calendar month or less in advance of the delivery date must be paid in full at the time of booking. If the balance is unpaid after the due date has passed, we reserve the right to cancel your order without issuing any refund. 

We accept payment by bank/building society transfer only at this time. We are unable to accept payment by cheque. 

All price quotations in writing are valid for 30 days from the date of quotation. If no payment has been made to secure a booking after 30 days and you wish to proceed with an order, we will provide a new quote based on prevailing cost and availability. A new quote may be higher than the previous quote given.


Cancellations

Your 50% deposit secures a slot in our production for the week/s leading up to your event date. We accepted limited number of orders for any date in order to ensure a high standard can be maintained. Should you no longer require a cake, you must notify us in writing in the first instance. The following cancellation terms apply:

  • The 50% deposit is non-refundable at any time. An initial cooling off period of 14 days applies in which your order can be cancelled without penalty and your initial deposit refunded. 
  • No refunds will be issued for cancellations notified 1 month or less before the delivery date. This is due to preparation work that has started, and loss of business from other bookings that we may have had to decline. 
  • Cancellations notified over 1 month and up to 3 months - 50% refund of monies paid above initial deposit
  • Cancellations notified more than 3 months before delivery date - 75% of monies paid above initial deposit

Delivery & Setup

Delivery and setup is required for all multi-tiered wedding and celebration cakes. Due to the fragile nature of tiered cakes, and because we are not in a position to repair cakes which have been damaged in transit after collection by the client, for your peace of mind we do not permit delivery of these cakes. Delivery and setup is charged at £45.00 inside London and £1.50 per mile for all venues outside of London/M25. If there are congestion or parking charges applicable these will be added to your invoice and payable in advance. 

It is your responsibility to check with their venue for any restrictions which may apply to the delivery and/or setup of their cake or dessert table. Teal & Roses will not be held liable if the venue prevents set up of any restricted elements of their order. It is the Client's responsibility to liaise with the venue and decorator/florist for tables, tablecloths, decoration and for the cutting and service of their cake unless otherwise expressly agreed with Teal & Roses. Sale and supply of cakes does not include cutting and service of the cake to the Client's guests though this service can be agreed for a fee. 


Hire

We have available to hire a range of presentation options to show your cake off in the best possible way, and also cake knives for your use. These will be delivered with your cake. A hire fee is applicable together with a deposit which is refunded provided the items are returned in good conditiuon within 5 days of your event date. 


Our Liability

Teal & Roses cannot be held liable for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of any of our obligations under these terms that is caused by adverse weather, highway hazards, road incident, war, civil disturbance, terrorism, acts of nature or event beyond our reasonable control. We will always make best endeavours to deliver according to the contract insofar as it does not expose the company and its agents to risk of harm, injury or death. 

In the very unlikely event that we unable to deliver in accordance with the contract, we will make every attempt to secure an alternative Cake Designer of comparable standard who is willing to perform this contract at the rate paid by the Client. In the event that no replacement can be secured, liability is limited to the sums agreed and paid under this contract as detailed on the Invoice. Teal & Roses cannot be held liable  for emotional, physical or financial distress due to any unforeseen circumstances
